Jagan Fears Early Election

One of the main plans and ambitions of Jagan has been to put CBN behind bars in one way or another. He did so by alleging skill scam against Naidu.

The original plan was to put CBN behind bars and possibly go for early elections by November or December. There are comments that this is the reason why CBN was arrested in September, in order to prepare the ground for elections in November or December.

Had Jagan’s plan succeeded, he would have gone for early polls with CBN behind bars. But that isn’t to be now.

In his meeting with YCP troops today, Jagan confirmed that the election will be held in Apri. He urged his cadre to prepare for the next 6 months for the elections which are of historic importance for his party.

As it appears, Jagan is taken aback by the public backlash that he suffered after the arrest of CBN. There is a widespread negative narrative not just in AP, but also in Telangana and Karnataka(Telugu communities), and also in the USA.

With so much negativity in the foreground, going for early polls would be a suicidal move and Jagan appears to be fearing the same.

Had Jagan’s plan to curb TDP by putting CBN in jail which would demoralize TDP cadre worked out, there’s every chance he would’ve gone for early polls. But after seeing the overwhelming negativity, Jagan has taken a backstep and the fact that he has gone for the conventional April elections shows the same.
