YSRCP chief YS Jagan met with the party’s legal cell on Tuesday and took a sharp dig at AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. He remarked that law and righteousness are absent under the current regime, calling it “Kaliyuga politics.” Jagan appreciated the tireless efforts of party lawyers who fought against what he called false and illegal cases.
During the meeting, Jagan praised the contributions of legal leaders like Ponnavula Sudhakar Reddy and Manohar Reddy. He assured them that their services will be remembered and rewarded in Jagan 2.0. According to Jagan, the present government is using the judiciary as a tool to imprison political opponents, damaging their dignity and reputation.
He highlighted how, during his tenure, the government backed lawyers through various schemes like ‘Law Nestam.’ Underprivileged individuals were appointed as GPs and AGPs, and ₹100 crore was allotted to the lawyers’ welfare fund, with the government covering one-third of their insurance.
Jagan announced that a new app will soon be launched where the public can file grievances, upload proofs, and seek justice. All data will go into a digital library, and action will be taken against the guilty. He reiterated that justice will prevail when the YSRCP returns to power.
He also took time to condemn widespread corruption in sectors like liquor, sand, and gravel. Jagan criticized the current government’s misuse of public funds under the pretext of mobilization advances. Comparing construction costs, he said 5-star amenities can be built for ₹4,000 per sq ft, yet the government is spending ₹10,000 per sq ft, pointing to rampant corruption.
