Jagan’s Development Index: Completely Flawed!

The government of Andhra Pradesh, led by YCP has been proudly making tall claims about the IT returns filed in the state.

Lapping it up, YCP troops on social media are saying that KCR makes tall claims about Telangana’s progress but the state has filed just 11 lakh ITRs while AP people have filed over 40 lakh ITRs. They are saying this is the kind of development index Jagan has bought in the state.

But there is a big catch here. This development index is a flawed one and here is a brief report on the same.

Reacting to this post, a netizen wrote “Number of ITRs filed might not be a great measure/analogue of development. Many cases where ITR filed by someone working in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, or outside India etc. but still has PAN CARD issued in AP. Since PAN is issued in Andhra Pradesh, the IT returns filing is consider to be in AP.”

Another netizen pointed out that the skilled workforce in AP is moving to neighboring states Karnataka and Telangana but naturally, their PAN cards are from AP, and Jagan’s men are now using this to raise their collars. As it turned out, Jagan’s development index was proved to be flawed almost instantly.
