Telugu Desam Party and Janasena allied with the BJP and gave more seats to the party just to have free and fair elections.
But then, even the basic demands are not met.
The parties repeatedly asked for the transfer of the DGP, Chief Secretary, and Intelligence Chief who are working in favor of Jagan but the EC did not care. The result is the Pro-Jagan decisions in Pension distribution.
YSR Congress is trying to stop the transfer of votes between TDP and Janasena by fielding independents with Glass Symbol in TDP and BJP seats.
This is a technical issue and the EC can easily freeze the symbol for Janasena but it did not do.
After going to court, the EC agreed not to give the Glass Tumbler symbol to other Independent MLA candidates if Janasena is contesting for a Parliament and to other Independent MP candidates where Janasena is contesting for Assembly.
This solved the issue for Janasena but not in the seats where TDP is contesting.
Today in the court the Election Commission issued that it is too late to change the symbols and the ballot is already forwarded to the armed forces.
The Commission also informed the court that it is not obligated to consider alliances when issuing symbols.
If there is no change in this decision, there will be the Glass symbol in 62 Assembly constituencies and five MP constituencies where TDP is contesting.
The court adjourned the matter to tomorrow. If the EC says it is late tomorrow and most likely it will reiterate the same tomorrow as well unless the court gives an order.
If EC first took the decision to freeze the symbol immediately after TDP and Janasena complained, there would be no question of delay.
But it delayed the decision initially and offered a partial solution wasting the time. Now, it says too late to change the symbol.
