JD Lakshminarayana Now to Join Lok Satta – Mutually Beneficial Deal

Reports are emerging that Former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana had dropped the plan of floating a New Political Party. The Agenda of the party was Supposed to be announced today. Sources say that Lakshminarayana will now join Lok Satta Party and will head the Andhra Pradesh Wing of the Party.

Lok Satta which was founded as an NGO by Jayaprakash Narayana Contested 2009 Elections and got around 2% Votes. Only JP managed to win from Kukatpally as MLA back then. But then, the party voteshare got reduced to 0.4% in 2014 elections less than Communist Parties. Later, JP announced that the party will not contest elections going further.

JD Lakshminarayana’s joining Lok Satta will be mutually beneficial. JD will have a real tough time setting up a party a few months before the elections and Lok Satta will address this concern. At the same time, JD Lakshminarayana will give a fresh leadership for the party which has been struggling after JP became slightly inactive these days.

The big question however is if this will change the fortunes of Lok Satta electorally. All the major parties are having their own calculations about how this will impact their electoral prospects. But this new development of Lakshminarayana joining Lok Satta may alter that a bit. Let us see if this can make an impact in the coming elections!
