YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is making tall claims of ‘Why Not 175? on one side but the party is struggling to find candidates in many seats. In some places, the candidates are reluctant to contest even if they are offered.
Kakinada MP is one such seat. Jagan moved sitting MP Vanga Geetha to the Pitapuram Assembly.
Kakinada MP is a sure shot seat for TDP and Janasena due to the kapu votes consolidation.
Chalamalasetty Sunil, a Businessman who contested and lost from TDP in 2019 joined YSR Congress later. Jagan wants him to contest as he believes Sunil will likely influence the election using money.
But Sunil is not ready. Incidentally, Sunil contested for Kakinada Parliament thrice and lost all three times. He informed Jagan that he is no longer interested in contesting direct elections
YSR Congress also got in touch with Pitapuram MLA Pendem Dorababu to contest but he is not interested as well. He clearly told the high command that he is only interested in the Pitapuram Assembly.
There are rumors that Businessman Sana Satish may contest this seat on Janasena’s ticket.
