Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha spoke about ambition and political strategy in an interview with a news channel. She recalled how many doubted the survival of BRS when the party was formed, questioning whether it would last in the political landscape.
Kavitha said BRS not only survived but grew stronger, achieved statehood and ruled Telangana. She added that growth comes from working among people and fighting for their issues. According to her, aspiring for a leadership role is natural when public support follows.
She stated that not aspiring for the top position would be wrong. Kavitha said everyone must aim high in public life. She stressed that it is time Telangana had a woman Chief Minister, calling attention to the lack of women leaders in the state’s history.
Referring to combined Andhra Pradesh, Kavitha noted that there were 27 Chief Ministers but not a single woman. She questioned how long women must wait for representation at the highest level and raised the issue directly during the interview.
When asked about contesting in 2029, Kavitha initially said no clear political strategy was in place. She said current efforts focus on meeting people, sharing experiences of being insulted, listening to public problems and raising those issues.
However, during Ask Kavitha on X, she later confirmed plans to contest in the 2029 elections, signalling a clear political intention for the future.
