What many feared has now come true in Telangana politics. An intense war of words recently broke out between Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha and BRS MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, drawing public attention to serious allegations.
Kavitha accused Madhavaram Krishna Rao of involvement in land grabbing activities. She alleged that his son, a director in a realty firm, encroached the Usman Khan lake area between 2021 and 2024, reducing its size from 10 acres to 6 acres.
During a press meet, Kavitha presented documents claiming a 70-acre villa venture consumed government road land and led to the shrinking of the lake. The allegations created political ripples and intensified the public debate around land encroachments.
Madhavaram Krishna Rao strongly denied the charges and countered by calling Kavitha the liquor queen. However, developments that followed appeared to strengthen Kavitha’s claims rather than weaken them.
After the allegations, HYDRAA officials inspected the site along with revenue authorities. The checks reportedly confirmed the encroachment. Officials also found that the realtor had renamed Usman Khan lake as Grove Park.
Kavitha’s campaign has placed BRS leaders under pressure after her exit from the party. Political observers believe this case may be only the beginning, with more allegations likely to surface in the coming days.
