Telangana Congress leadership was delivered a significant shock in the form of the departure of Konda Surekha. This is one of the crucial developments in Telangana politics in recent times and the repercussions could be significant too.

This expulsion from the cabinet ministry is going to be a tough pill to swallow for Surekha, and it could be a matter of time before she explodes again.

It is a fact that Surekha had publicly said she would continue with the Congress party and serve her MLA position. But that doesn’t rule out the possibility of her looking at other political avenues as well.

In this context, there is this wild theory on social media, where it is being speculated that Konda Surekha could be joining the YSR Congress and lead the party in Telangana.

There is already a growing narrative that Jagan has made it clear that he wants to expand YCP in Telangana and wants a strong face to lead the charge. It is being speculated that Surekha could be the right fit for this position.

However, practically speaking the possibility of Surekha actually joining the YSR Congress ecosystem is extremely dismal.

It must be kept in mind that Surekha had already faced a lot of troubles for walking behind Jagan prior to 2014. Not only was she disregarded by Jagan, despite her loyalty, her political career almost came to a close due to this drastic decision.

So there is very little chance that Surekha would actually even consider to go back to YCP at this point in time. She must surely be despising the very sight of looking at the Jagan party at this juncture.
