BRS working president and former MAUD minister KTR appears to be in legal trouble again. There is a strong possibility of jail time if the Congress government moves forward with its plans.
A key update came on Tuesday in the Formula E-racing case. After nine months of investigation, the ACB submitted its final report to the government.
The report has now reached Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao. Once Governor’s approval is granted, chargesheets will be filed against A1 KTR, A2 senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar, A3 HMDA ex-engineer BLN Reddy, and two others.
KTR has appeared before the ACB twice, while Arvind Kumar attended summons three times. ACB has stated that high-level corruption occurred in the case.
According to sources, the ACB traced a quid pro quo deal. An amount of Rs 44 crore was transferred from the sponsor to the company that organised the race. In return, the BRS government allegedly received electoral bonds worth Rs 44 crore from the sponsor.
The Congress government seems determined to corner KTR. His father, former CM KCR, is also facing legal heat in the Kaleshwaram project case.
