Earlier there were multiple unverified media reports about the ACB court potentially looking at impounding the passport of former IT minister KTR in connection with the Formula E case.
It was extensively speculated that the court could be impounding the passport of KTR on legal grounds to prevent him from traveling abroad during the investigation.
However, it turns out that this is nothing but fake news that has been cooked up by a section of the media. It is established by KTR himself that there is no truth in these reports as he shared a social media message today.
KTR pointed out that he is taking legal action against the media channels that propagated that his passport is getting impounded. He made it very clear that there is no development in this direction and pointed out that it is nothing but fake narrative.
This is pretty much confirms that the degree of the investigation against KTR is not severe enough for passport impounding or anything as such.
It is a fact that KTR had attended the ACB investigation multiple times in this case. But he hadn’t faced any significant legal action till now. Hence, it appears that he is frustrated with the media reports about his passport getting surrendered.
