The Telangana government has awarded the construction of a new radial road project to infrastructure company L&T. The proposed 41.5 km road will run from Outer Ring Road exit 13 at Raviryala to Amanagallu.
The road has been named Ratan Tata Road. The first phase covering 19.2 km will be executed by Ritwik Projects. The remaining 22.3 km six lane stretch from Mirkhanpet to Regional Ring Road has been allotted to L&T.
This information was disclosed by the company to the Stock Exchange. L&T classified the project under the significant category. Projects costing between Rs 1000 and Rs 2500 fall under this classification.
As part of the project, a 3.6 km viaduct will be built along with small bridges, underpasses and culverts. The plan also includes service roads on both sides, drainage systems and rain water harvesting facilities.
Cycle tracks will also be developed as part of the road design. The road is expected to improve connectivity to the IT corridor, Electronic City, Young India Skill University, Bharat Future City and other major upcoming projects.
