On Friday, Madhukar Reddy’s wife Swati was found unconscious in the bathroom at her parent’s home and was taken to the hospital immediately. Parents reported that their daughter consumed a disinfectant and attempted to kill herself due to the torture that her in-laws are giving to her alleging that she is the reason behind their son’s death.

Madhukar Reddy and Swati were software professionals in the US and have a 4-year-old daughter. They have recently moved to their new home in Seattle where Madhukar was found hanging on April 4, who also have written an apology email to his parents before killing himself. Swati and her parents were attacked by her in-laws at Madhukar’s funeral and restricted her from attending her husband’s last rites blaming her to be the reason for Madhukar’s death.
On the other side, Swati’s parents expressed grief over not taking any action on Madhukar’s relatives who attacked them at the funeral and now, for being the reason for their daughter’s suicide attempt. Swati is now under treatment and police said they would take a call on registering the case once Swati gets her senses and gives a statement on her suicide attempt.
