GCC Run Continues, L’Oreal Comes To Hyderabad

L’Oréal announces new GCC in Hyderabad

After Mattel announced its GCC in Hyderabad, another major global brand is joining the list. L’Oréal, the world’s largest French beauty company, is setting up its global capability centre in the city. This marks another major win for Hyderabad’s growing tech and service ecosystem.

Nearly 70 companies have already opened GCCs in Hyderabad, including Fortune 500 names like Netflix, Eli Lilly, Costco and McDonald’s. A GCC supports global operations through technology, talent and innovation. The Telangana government aims to reach 120 GCCs by 2026, creating jobs for around 1.2 lakh people.

L’Oréal’s new centre will function separately from its research facilities in Mumbai and Bengaluru. The group, known for brands like Garnier and Maybelline, currently runs three research centres in France along with regional hubs in the US, Japan, China, Brazil, South Africa and India.

This expansion shows L’Oréal’s increased focus on India at a time when its growth slowed to 5 percent in FY25. The move reflects a clear shift in strategy as the company strengthens operations in one of the world’s fastest-growing beauty markets.

Hyderabad continues to attract global investments due to its strong engineering and digital talent, cost advantages and ability to scale quickly. The city is now viewed as a dependable base for large companies building long-term global operations.
