The volunteer system was a brainchild of Jagan Mohan Reddy and it is starting to backfire on his face now, right before the election. The volunteers in the state have started to protest against YCP government over salary hike and better working conditions.
In this context, YCP’s Thamballapalle MLA, Dwarakanath Reddy has made a provocative comment while speaking about the volunteers.

“Meeku job ichinde ekkuva(It is a great thing that we even gave you jobs). You don’t become a volunteer for the salary pay, but for the righteous intention of helping those around you. Do you think we can’t find anyone else for this job? Jagan gave you all the jobs out of good heart, you should understand it and start to work for YCP and see that we win the election by a bigger margin this time” the MLA said.
This comment from the MLA could well pour fuel on fire as the volunteers who are already at a large strike could revolt even more. This is not what YCP wanted right before the election,
