The other day, the Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed the Anticipatory Bail application filed by Rajampet MP Midhun Reddy.
The court opined that there is preliminary evidence to ascertain his role in the Liquor Scam and agreed to the Prosecution that his custodial investigation is necessary.
The court also said that it can not interfere, given the seriousness of the case.
That clears the deck for Midhun Reddy’s arrest.
Meanwhile, it is said that the MP has gone into hiding and the police have issued a Lookout notice to prevent him from going out of the country.
It is a surprise how a sitting MP can disappear so easily.
In all probability, Midhun Reddy will now approach the Supreme Court for Anticipatory Bail.
Liquor Case is the only case about the previous regime that is seriously pursued in this Government.
Also, there is a serious progress in this case.
It also appears like Former Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy is turning Approver in this case.
The case is so complex, involving many big names from the previous government. Once it reaches a conclusion, the party will be in doldrums.
Even though Sai Reddy is not taking Jagan’s name so far, his name will naturally crop up in the due course.
So, this is a very dangerous turf for YSR Congress.
Moreover, Midhun Reddy is the son of Peddireddy Rama Chandra Reddy, the YSR Congress Strongman in Chittoor district,
Peddireddy Rama Chandra Reddy was a Big Power Center in Jagan Mohan Reddy. He was the only minister to retain his Ministry throughout the five years.
Every now and then, he used to make big challenges to defeat Chandrababu Naidu in Kuppam. In fact, he wrested Kuppam Municipality using brute force and money power.
With Midhun Reddy’s arrest, Peddireddy will also be muzzled.
In a way, if the MP is arrested, it will work in many ways for the TDP.
