Nandhyal By-Election: Where the Stakes Are High?

The voting for Nandhyal by-election will take place on 23rd of August. The counting will happen on 28th. The Results will be out on the same day. Political experts see this election as a Semi-Final to Big Fight in 2019 Assembly Elections.

This is a normal by-election but then both the sides have blown it out of proportions and are trapped. Jagan went on to say it is not the vote to Shilpa Mohan Reddy but a vote to make Jagan the Chief Minister. The unimaginable will happen if YSR Congress will go on to lose this.

Chandrababu also made a similar mistake by spending huge money and deploying all his ministers making the by-election prestigious. A loss here will mean that Opposition will be all pumped up and will project this as a vote against the government.

Traditionally, Nandhyal is a weak constituency for TDP and so it is a big gamble Chandrababu is playing here with politically novice heirs of Bhuma family. In the case of Jagan, political experts say Sympathy is the strongest force in any election and so, the stakes are high for both the sides.
