Nara Lokesh Strikes: AP Govt Bans Politics in Schools

The Andhra Pradesh government has made a key decision on Friday. The government has issued orders prohibiting the display of political symbols and items on school premises.

This would mean no politics in schools henceforth. The orders say that no unauthorised person or persons will be allowed into schools barring parents and school management committee members.

It is known that during the past government, the school kit carried pictures of ex CM and the schemes were also named after him. However, after Lokesh took over the education portfolio in the coalition government, he has put in sincere efforts to dissociate politics from schools.

The order says that if any donations are given, they must be handed over to the head mistress or head master without interacting with children or entering the classrooms.

All grievances, complaints or requests must be submitted to the administrative office. Staff or students must not interact with outside individuals or organisations.

The display of all kinds of political symbols, including shawls, banners and posters of political parties are strictly prohibited in schools. The government sought compliance from heads of institutions and all field functionaries.
