Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar forayed into Politics this election. He stirred a sensation with his fiery speeches and likable personality during the election campaign and won from Guntur Parliament with a mammoth majority of 3,44,695 votes.
He surprised everyone further by getting selected as the Minister of State in Modi’s Cabinet.
Right from his foray into politics and after getting selected for Modi’s team, some people never trusted him.
They always said he was another fat-rich NRI who would win the election by pumping money and would disappear to the United States after the elections.
They even said his choice for a Union Cabinet was a big mistake.
But then, Pemmasani proved everyone wrong.
He was one of the most active ministers in Modi’s team. Unlike many other ministers, he reportedly got a complete grip on his office and is doing a commendable job.
Also, the question of staying more in the USA and being unavailable did not arise until now.
As far as the constituency is concerned, he is doing even better.
He has a good understanding of Guntur more than many senior leaders of the district.
In a significant development for Guntur’s infrastructure, Pemmasani pursued and got the Central government to allocate Rs 98 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) Setu Bandhan scheme for the extension of the Sankar Vilas Road Over Bridge (ROB) on the Guntur-Nallapadu railway section.
In Guntur city, there is constant heavy traffic from near the bus stand to the lodge center. The existing bridge is not enough to handle the traffic. This project will address the issue big time and people are welcoming Pemmasani for getting it done.
A 250 Crore MSME Technology Center was relocated from Kopparthi to Amaravati recently. Pemmasani made good efforts to convince the Central Government to allow the shift.
Recently, he also brought a 100-bed ESI hospital to the Prathipadu constituency after convincing the Central Government.
Like this, Pemmasani proved the naysayers wrong by being an efficient Minister and a Parliamentarian.
