The hassle free ground for investors as promised by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao seem to be a distant mirage in the new state. Several new project await approval and several old projects await the renewal of their environmental clearances in the new states for months together. Usually Center grants such clearances to big projects and the state constituted committee grants clearances for other range projects.
The committees in place in the United State were expired in December 2013 and no new committees are appointed in that place. This committee is appointed by the Union government on the recommendation of the state government. Andhra Pradesh had appointed the committee after the bifurcation but Telangana state government did not clear them till date.
Some of the industries like Quarries, Mines, Stone Crushers have come to a grinding halt as a result taking a heavy toll on the real estate segment. Some of these industries are losing their lease period due to this inordinate delays and are pleading the government to appoint the committee and speed up the clearances so that these industries are saved from massive losses.
