Andhra Pradesh has been clocking more than 20,000 COVID-19 cases per day. People are seen running pillar to post for hospital beds, Oxygen cylinders, life-saving drugs, etc. In Anantapur alone, there have been three instances in the last week where patients died due to lack of oxygen.
The Government denies all of this and says the situation is well within control in Andhra Pradesh. On the other side, TDP Spokesperson, Pattabhi in a TV interview alleged that the State Government is totally unserious about the pandemic and the problems being faced by the people.
“Andhra Pradesh Cabinet sat down for a meeting on Tuesday. In the middle of a pandemic, you naturally expect the COVID handling to be the prime agenda. But then, COVID is the thirty-third (33rd) issue in the cabinet meeting,” Pattabhi alleged.
He displayed the official agenda of the cabinet meeting. “Furthermore, the thirty-third issue is just a status note on COVID. There has been no discussion about how to procure more vaccines. The government is yet to place a single order for vaccines. The state did not start vaccinating the 18-44 age group yet. How to reduce the shortage of beds etc?,” Pattabhi alleged.
