Vehicle owners of Telangana will have to change their vehicle number plates in the next four months. The government had issued a notice on Thursday. Accordingly, vehicle owners have to name ‘AP’ letters on their number plates to TS and the old district codes to new ones.

The last four numbers in Registration numbers however will remain the same. The registration numbers can be changed online for free of cost. Once these changes are done, AP vehicles will have to pay Life Tax in Telangana to ply here.
These Number Plates change was supposed to happen several months ago but it was delayed as some petitioner approached to high court about objecting to the change. Finally the court had given nod for Telangana government to go about the change.
