October – A month of test for KCR

In the press meet following TRS’ thumping win in Medak, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao declared that his mark ruling did not start. He told the media that the first 100 days only went in to understanding the problems and drawing up the proposals and his style of administration will only begin after Dussehra. Now that Dusshera is over, all eyes are on KCR to deliver. The Telangana government has planned to implement a slew of decisions between Dusshera on October 3 and Deepavali on October 23. The administrative capabilities of KCR will be tested during these days and it should be undoubtedly a month of no errors for KCR.

Several programs like improving drinking water facility, Loan Waiver, scrapping of road tax for autos, tractors and other mechanized farm implements, issuance of loans to women’s self-help groups, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubbarak are expected to kick start during this period. All these promises are costly and will test KCR’s mettle. More importantly, the first budget in Telangana State will be tabled in the next Assembly session starting from 20th of this month. KCR scrapped the previous draft budget telling it does not reflects his vision. Now it has to be seen how effective this new budget will be!
