It was the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who helped Orissa (Odisha now) in the devastating Super Cyclone in 1999 more than the Orissa government. He flew in relief material at war footing and helped the people in distress. The Odisha Newspapers then wrote that Naidu will win with thumping majority if at all he contest in that state too. Now Andhra Pradesh is in distress due to Hudhud Cyclone and Odisha is now trying to payback for Naidu’s help.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik spoke to Chandrababu and offered all possible help in restoration and rehabilitation. Odisha government is sending men and machine for road clearing by cutting trees and restoration of power lines. The teams will also carry mega diesel operated generator sets and special relief commissioners of both states will stay in constant touch for further help.
