The Hyderabad cyber crime police have filed a case against a X User for posting offensive and morphed content about Telangana CM Revanth Reddy.
Following a formal complaint by Kailash Sajjan, state secretary of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’s (TPCC) social media department, the police filed a case. According to him, one X User who goes by the handle ‘DigtvTelugu’ posted a morphed image of the CM in an objectionable manner.
Sajjan said the content was fake, morphed, abusive, vulgar and offensive. He said it was posted with the intention of maligning the CM and the Congress party.
Sajjan claimed that the X handler was a known troublemaker trying to promote hatred against the government. The police filed cases under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The police also wrote to X to provide further information about the person who posted on X.
The state government is acting immediately against those using social media as a platform to spread offensive and derogatory content, either by morphing or using other tools. Despite this, the offenders continue to use the platform to spread fake images and content!
