But center did not prepare any infrastructure project proposals saying that Amaravati do not qualify to get funds under AMRUT. The center announced spending of 22000 Crore in 20 towns and municipalities in Andhra Pradesh. Amaravati is also included in the list back then but now the capital is being given an empty hand.

Center had informed that state government that the project can be taken up in Amaravati only when the boundaries are decided. Then population in the capital can be ascertained and the necessary basic infrastructure can be decided. The center also said that Amaravati is neither a town nor a municipality. Tragedy is that the Urban Development Ministry handling AMRUT is being led by our own Venkaiah Naidu.
