The Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj secured 5 medals in India survey by the Center. It got first rank in two categories, silver in one and bronze in two other categories. It is a proud achievement for the state Panchayat Raj Minister and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
After he got the portfolio, he worked extensively for the development of rural pockets. AP held 24th position during YSRCP rule. The department stood first in Rashtriya Gramaswaraj Abhiyan, Jal Sanchay-Jan Bhagidari programmes.
Pawan Kalyan constantly monitors developments in various panchayats and has assured the success of Palle Panduga 2.0. His efforts to provide clean drinking water to remote tandas and ensuring empowering of local bodies have helped the Andhra Pradesh government get the awards.
Laying roads has been another priority area for Pawan Kalyan. There have been instances when he ordered the authorities to lay roads following requests from villagers. He had also promoted Rurban panchayats to improve rural infrastructure similar to municipalities.
It’s a department close to the heart of Pawan Kalyan and the awards simply speak for the dedication he had and the motivation he provided for the department staff.
