Jagan Mohan Reddy intentionally got Amul Dairy to Andhra Pradesh and is giving utmost importance and incentives to the dairy from the Government to impact Chandrababu Naidu’s Heritage.
But then, a different rule is applied to Minister Peddireddy Rama Chandra Reddy‘s Siva Shakthi Dairy which operated in Sadhum and Somala Mandals of Erstwhile Chittoor district.
Ever since YSR Congress came to power, no other dairy is allowed to operate in these Mandals. Even Amul is not allowed.
The milk is collected at lower prices than the market prices. While a total of 26,000 liters of milk is being sold in the two mandals, 20,000 liters is going to Shivashakti Dairy alone. Farmers are getting Rs.3 to Rs.4 less per liter compared to other dairies.
There are situations of farmers selling their cattle because they cannot bear the losses. According to a report in Eenadu, the YSR Congress men blackmails the van drivers and managers to prevent them from collecting milk.
Sreeja Dairy, run by women’s associations in collaboration with NDDB, was collecting 5,000 liters of milk per day in two panchayats of Somala Mandal till the end of 2018. After YSR Congress came to power, the milk collection came to a standstill after facing incidents like harassing the van drivers and spilling milk.
