The remand for ex Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Pinnelli Venkatarami Reddy has been extended. A junior civil judge passed the order after the brothers surrendered on December 11 following Supreme Court directions.
Their earlier remand was set to end on December 25. It has now been extended till January 7. The brothers are currently lodged in Nellore Central Jail. They were virtually interrogated by the Macherla junior civil judge.
The case dates back to May 4, 2025. The Pinnelli Brothers are accused of hacking TDP workers and brothers Javisetti Venkateswarlu and Javisetti Koteswara Rao in Gundlapadu, Vendurthi mandal, Macherla district. Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy is listed as A6 in the case, while Pinnelli Venkatarami Reddy is A7.
Both were absconding before their surrender. They first sought bail in the High Court, which was rejected. They then moved the Supreme Court, but their bail request was also denied. The Supreme Court then ordered the brothers to surrender within two weeks.
With the legal process now underway, citizens are watching closely. Many are waiting to see how the case progresses and what direction the investigation takes in the coming days.
