Vijay Kumar Chukkapalli, head of Popular Shoe Mart, passed away on Monday after suffering a heart attack. He was 58.
Vijay Kumar was the third son of Chukkapalli Pitchaiah, who founded Popular Shoe Mart in Vijayawada in 1962. He played an important role in carrying forward the family business and strengthening the company’s presence in the footwear retail sector.
What began as a single store grew into one of South India’s long-standing footwear retail chains.
