Power Production stopped in Srisailam!

power stopped in srirailamTelangana government has finally yielded to the pressures. They have stopped the Power production in the Srisailam Left Wing from Sunday midnight. However the Telangana state had used 5.6 TMCs of water instead of the 2 TMCs prescribed by the Krishna River Management Board. The extra 2.6 TMCs of water used by Telangana will be deducted from its water allocations.

However the state is planning to approach the Apex Council constituted under the State Reorganization Act against the verdict of the board. The Council is headed by Union Water Resources Minister and has Chief Ministers of both States as members. They are even toying the idea of going to Courts after AP launches official complaint.

As an alternative plan, to compensate the power lost from Srisailam project due to this decision will be compensated by increasing power production in Nagarjunasagar project. It is said that the government had already given such orders to Chief Engineer of Srisailam project.
