Prakasham district was one of the few favorable segments for TDP in 2019 as the party won 4 MLA seats here. The assembly segments won by TDP are Kondapi, Addanki, Parchur, and Chirala.
Of the total 86.96% voting percentage in the Prakasham district, YCP polled 52.32% while TDP polled 42.47 and JanaSena polled 1.42%.
JanaSena polled 11,241 votes in Ongole, 5,503 in MArkapuram, 3828 in Darsi, and 3040 in Giddaluru constituencies. These are significant numbers.
In view of the current situation in Andhra Pradesh with the unruly arrest of Chandrababu and the questionable law and order situation, it is estimated that the TDP-JSP alliance could be getting an additional 10-12% vote share in the next election.
In that case, toppling YCP in the 11 assembly constituencies of Prakasam could be a walk in the park for the TDP-JSP alliance. The landscape has clearly changed after the alliance, say reports.
