Prakash Raj’s Public Apology: Mistake is a Mistake

Prakash Raj apologises for betting app case

Popular actor Prakash Raj has publicly apologized after appearing before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the ongoing online betting app promotion case. The actor was questioned by officials in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening and later spoke to the media, admitting his mistake and assuring that such an incident would not be repeated.

Prakash Raj revealed that he had promoted an app in 2016, which at that time was registered as a gaming platform. However, he clarified that once the app turned into a betting application in 2017, he immediately terminated his contract with the company. Despite this, the actor took full responsibility for his past involvement and said he regretted his actions.

“A mistake is a mistake, whether done knowingly or unknowingly. I promoted the app in 2016, but when it turned into a betting platform, I withdrew my association immediately. I have submitted all relevant documents, agreements, and bank transaction proofs to the SIT. I sincerely apologize to the public and assure that such a mistake will not happen again,” said Prakash Raj.

He also urged the youth to stay away from betting and gaming apps, pointing out how such platforms are ruining lives and pushing families into financial distress. “Money earned through shortcuts never lasts. Only hard work brings true success,” he said.

The Telangana government, stunned by the increasing number of suicide cases and financial losses related to online betting, has taken serious action against app promoters. The SIT has been tasked with investigating the promotional ties between celebrities, influencers, and the betting companies involved.

So far, Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, and Manchu Lakshmi have also been questioned, among a total of 29 accused individuals linked to the case.
