Presidential Elections An Easy Win for Ram Nath KovindAs expected, Ram Nath Kovind won the presidential elections over Meira Kumar and is going to be the 14th President of India. Though the country was busy in presidential elections for a couple of weeks by now, it was already predicted that Ram Nath Kovind is going to get the president ship as he has got the super support from various states legislators. Many even sent wishes for winning the election way before the results were announced.

Meeting the expectations, Mr. Kovind won the elections with 4,79,585 electoral college votes while Meira Kumar got 2,04,594 electoral college votes. He has been leading from the first round of the counting which is why the win was not a surprise. Pranab Mukherjee would hand over the president ship to Mr. Kovind on July 25th.

The counting was started at 11 AM in New Delhi in the presence of the nominated candidates, Ram Nath Kovind and Meira Kumar. Sweets have been distributed in the parliament house before the results and Narendra Modi tweeted congratulations to Mr. Kovind for winning the elections and wished him a fruitful & inspiring tenure.
