The incident involving Railway Kodur Janasena MLA Arava Sreedhar has caused a stir in Andhra Pradesh politics. The issue has drawn widespread attention. Many are watching to see how Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan will respond.
The matter surfaced just before Pawan Kalyan’s Delhi tour, adding to the discomfort for the party. Sakshi has been aggressively highlighting the issue since yesterday. The coverage appears aimed at gaining maximum political mileage.
The videos circulating online are said to show a WhatsApp video call between the victim and Arava Sreedhar. WhatsApp chats found on the victim’s phone reportedly mention TDP in charge Mukka Roopananda Reddy and another individual named Vishal.
YSR Congress and BRS social media teams are pushing claims that Mukka Roopananda Reddy may have set a honey trap. They are also assuming Vishal to be his son Vishal Reddy. These claims are being made without confirmation.
After targeting the image of Janasena, attempts are now being made to create differences between alliance partners. However sources say the actual facts point in a different direction. The narrative being pushed does not fully align with past events.
Before the 2024 elections, the high command had announced Yanamala Bhaskar Rao as the Janasena candidate for Railway Kodur. Mukka Roopananda Reddy strongly opposed this decision. He instead supported the candidature of Arava Sreedhar.
Following sustained opposition, both TDP and Janasena high commands agreed to change the candidate. Arava Sreedhar was eventually fielded from Railway Kodur. This background is now being selectively ignored in the current debate.
It is believed the victim may have approached Mukka Roopananda Reddy to complain about the MLA. YSR Congress and BRS social media teams are using this angle to fuel rifts between TDP and Janasena. The move appears politically motivated.
Railway Kodur is an SC reserved constituency. Given this, Mukka Roopananda Reddy is unlikely to have any personal interest in targeting the sitting MLA. This aspect weakens the allegations being circulated online.
