YSR Congress has lost the Urban and Rural seats of Rajahmundry in the 2019 elections despite a strong wave in favor of the party. Margani Bharat, however, won as MP. Lack of unity among leaders and cadres has cost the party big in elections.
But nothing has changed even three years after the elections. YV Subba Reddy was initially appointed as the in charge and later Midhun Reddy came in his. Both of them failed to reform the party.
The party does not even have an office despite being a big town in the East Godavari district. The review meetings that rarely happen, do happen in the MP office or Rural Co-ordinator’s office.
The party did not even have candidates confirmed for the Mayor and MLA elections. The recent surveys have also predicted adverse results for the party.
The party already changed three coordinators for the Mayor position and is struggling to finalize the fourth name who will contest the election.
There are leaders like Routhu Surya Prakash Rao, Siva Rama Subrahmanyam, Akula Satyanarayana, Kodi Praveen, Anasuri Padmalatha, Pantham Kondala Rao, Nakka Sri Nagesh, Jakkampudi Ganesh, and others.
But the party leadership is not confident of any one of them. If the Chief Minister does not concentrate on the party at least now, the 2019 election results will repeat.
