Andhra Pradesh is leading the country in implementation of UJALA (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All) scheme. The power conservation scheme in AP produced excellent results and it became a model for all the states in the country. Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, the power corporation of the state has requested the Andhra Pradesh Energy department to depute a team of officials to Rajasthan.

A delegation from Rajasthan already held meetings with APGENCO officials who were briefed about the best practices in the effective implementation of the scheme. The visiting delegation was also explained the proposal to implement remote controlled system for agriculture pump sets in the near future.
Andhra Pradesh is also the first in the country to procure short term power through e-auction under the new guidelines introduced by the Central Government for online power procurement. This process will ensure efficient electricity price through e-bidding. APGENCO officials have informed about more state government inquiring about AP’s model, which is a revolutionary in power reforms.
