A German 25-yr-old woman was raped on her way to airport on Monday night by her cab driver. The incident occured at Mamidipally under Pahadi Shareef of Rachakinda Police Commissionarate.
The victim called 100 and complained to the police. The police are said to have picked up a suspect and are questioning him.
The German woman was visiting a friend in Hyderabad. They took a cab and went around the city during day. Later, after dropping the others, the German woman proceeded to the airport.
But the cab driver stopped the vehicle near Mamidipally at a secluded spot, raped her and went away. After the victim called the police, four teams were formed to track the culprit. A case of rape was filed.
The victim underwent medical test and was found to be stable. The police clarified that it was not a gang rape. The culprit was just one person. The German had visited Hyderabad for a week.
The victim was friends with her fellow student when he was studying in Germany. Apparently, she had visited India in the past. The police took a special note of the incident and formed teams to nab the culprit.
