Rayadurgam: Drug Peddling In Co-Living Hostel

With the New Year season approaching, police in Hyderabad are facing increased pressure to curb drug circulation during parties. At the same time, drug peddlers are reportedly stocking up ahead of celebrations.

In a fresh operation, narcotics officials raided a co-living hostel in Rayadurgam. The raid followed specific intelligence inputs suggesting drug peddling at Colive Garnet PG hostel.

Acting on the tip-off, the SOT police conducted a surprise raid on the premises. The operation led to multiple detentions.

Two alleged drug suppliers and three users were taken into custody. Police seized 12 gm of MDMA, 7 gm of OG Kush, and six mobile phones during the raid.

The suppliers were identified as Vamsi Dilip and Bala Prakash, both from AP. The users were identified as Mani Kantha, Rohit, and Tarun.

The SOT team conducted drug tests on the accused. Later, the users were handed over to the Gachibowli police for further action.

Gachibowli is known for its large population of tech professionals and high-end lifestyle. Over the past year, several drug-related incidents have been reported in the area.

Repeated cases of drug parties and illegal sales have raised serious concerns. Gachibowli has increasingly gained notoriety due to the frequent detection of narcotics-related activities.
