Room # 13, Base For Terror Plans: Red Fort Blast

Security agencies investigating Red Fort plot

Security agencies are working round the clock using information from the Faridabad module and the Red Fort blast. New facts surface every hour. They now state that the terrorists planned attacks in four cities at the same time and prepared eight suicide bombers.

Agencies found key details in the diaries of Dr Umar Nabi and Dr Muzammil. They traced the main base of the operation to Room No 17 in the boys hostel at Al Falah University. They also confirmed that Room No 13, belonging to Dr Muzammil, was used to frame the plots.

Umar and Muzammil planned to collect chemicals from the Al Falah laboratory. During the search, agencies recovered chemicals, electronic apparatus, and pen drives. They then checked Room No 4, used by Dr Umar, and found three diaries listing twenty-five names from Jammu & Kashmir and Faridabad.

Two dates, November 8 and November 12, appeared in the diaries. Agencies say this proves the attacks were pre-planned. The group purchased an i20, an Ecosport, and two other second-hand cars to carry out blasts in four locations across the country.

The blast at Red Fort took place in the i20. Agencies have seized the Ecosport and are searching for the remaining two cars. They also found that eight suicide bombers were lined up for the attacks, including Dr Umar, Muzammil, Adil, and Shaheen.

The entire operation was handed to Dr Umar. The group collected Rs 20 lakh and gave him full charge. Investigators also confirmed that twenty quintals of NPK fertilizer were bought from Nooh and Gurugram to make IED bombs.

Raids by security agencies disrupted the plan in time, bringing the plot to a halt.
