Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has a slew of pet projects and Gandhi Sarovar is one of them. Incidentally, the world’s largest Gandhi statue is being planned at the place. But the biggest opponent to the project is none other than Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson Tushar Gandhi.
In fact, the younger Gandhi tweeted tagging CM Revanth Reddy calling his plans as the “unGandhian” action. He further wrote that Bapu would have said – Not in my name. Stop it.
As a part of the Musi Rejuvenation Project, the Revanth Reddy government is procuring land for CM’s ambitious Gandhi Sarovar project. It has already issued orders for land acquisition. As a part of this, the land of Madhu Park Ridge is being taken over in Bandlaguda Jagir.
The adults and even children are expressing their angst on social media regarding their relocation from their homes. In the process, the tweet put up by Tushar Gandhi tagging Revanth Reddy and Telangana CMO is becoming viral. Tushar said that more than statues in his name, Mahatma Gandhi believed in providing basic amenities to people. He asked the proposal be stopped keeping in mind the rights of individuals.
After Tushar Gandhi put up the post, many are commenting asking CM Revanth Reddy to stop snatching land from the poor.
Now the big question arises, will Revanth Reddy let go of his ambitious project even after Tushar Gandhi’s request?
