Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had finished his Uttarandhra tour. Naidu had visited Chodavaram and Anakapalli in this tour. Naidu has visited Chodavaram, Anakapalli, and Vizianagaram.
Both these are massive successes with huge attendance even without any special efforts to mobilize people.
At least in the case of Ongole Mahanadu, there were food arrangements. It is not the case this time.
Leaders like Ganta Srinivasa Rao are still inactive. Some leaders like Ayyannapatrudu are vocally active but are not ready to spend money until near the elections.
Leaders like Ashok Gajapathi Raju are not at all active.
In complete contrast, there are big leaders of the YSR Congress like Gudivada Amar, Botsa Satyanarayana, Kolagatla Veerabhdra Swamy, and others.
The district re-organization and capital announcement in Vishakapatnam are also not yielding results.
That indicates there is a visible anti-incumbency in the people.
Uttarandhra is the bastion of Telugu Desam since its inception but it has got terrible results in the 2019 elections. The recovery seems to have started right from there.
At the same time, YSR Congress is in denial mode about what is happening.
They are calling these crowds paid crowds and are circulating the before and after videos of the meetings saying that there is no response.
This denial mode is exactly how TDP used to ignore the crowds at Jagan‘s Padayatra.
TDP paid a hefty price for its complacency in 2019. YSR Congress should know it better but power blinds people.
