The SIT has written a letter to the Andhra Pradesh government seeking action against TTD’s former and current EO Anil Kumar Singhal, former additional EO Dharma Reddy and former financial advisor and chief accounts officer Balaji. The letter demands strict steps against all three officials.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to transfer Anil Kumar Singhal, and the official orders are expected to be issued on Saturday or Sunday. After filing the chargesheet, the SIT sent a 14-page letter to the AP government highlighting serious administrative failures.
The SIT stated that disciplinary action must be taken as the officials failed to maintain ghee quality and violated established rules. It said the standards followed for several years were diluted, affecting the quality of ghee used in Tirumala.
The ghee parameters were changed after YSRCP came to power in 2019. Under the new rules, dairies were not required to collect milk or butter or prove their capacity to produce ghee.
The YSRCP government also removed the rule that allowed suppliers to provide ghee only for three years. Due to this mismanagement, SIT said 68.17 lakh tonnes of adulterated ghee was supplied to Tirumala between 2019 and 2024.
The SIT warned that such large-scale irregularities could have serious implications for quality control and public trust.
