The Telangana government has decided to construct a skywalk along the Rayadurg–T Hub stretch in Cyberabad. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who also handles the MAUD portfolio, approved the proposal.
The project aims to reduce congestion, improve pedestrian safety, and enhance walkability in one of Hyderabad’s busiest IT corridors. A detailed field study was conducted by the Cyberabad Police along with senior officials and traffic police.
The proposed alignment will start from Rayadurg Metro station and extend via the IKEA flyover and IOCL junction up to T Hub. Officials inspected pedestrian risk zones and traffic congestion points along the stretch.
The area witnesses heavy footfall from Metro passengers, IT employees, and visitors to nearby commercial hubs. High commuter volume has made pedestrian movement difficult, especially during peak hours.
The project includes a pedestrian-friendly skywalk and underground tunnels. These measures are expected to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion by nearly 30 percent, according to officials.
The skywalk will be developed in coordination with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council and other private stakeholders. The project will be executed in phases.
In Phase 1, a 500 Mt long skyway will be constructed. Plans are also in place for a 400 Mt long underpass connecting T-Hub with Mindspace C gate to improve last-mile connectivity.
