Central government had clarified repeatedly that there is no chance of Andhra Pradesh getting Special Status. This comes as a huge disappointment for people who pinned hopes on Modi to save the state in distress. However the Public anger is not visible as there are no agitations from public over the issue.

Political parties may be the reason for that. Even though people are angry, it requires a direction by political parties to make sure people come on roads. TDP could not do so being the ruling party. YSR Congress could not do that and irk Central government because of the corruption cases pending on Jagan.
At the same time, Congress party has got no leaders. Even the handful of leaders present in the party could not instill confidence in the people as they no longer trust the party. Communists are already on a decline and are not in a position to make an impression on people or lead them. So Special Status issue is lying alone waiting for a leader.
