Survey in AP to assure Preserving Heritage

Chandrababu naidu meeting thullurAndhra Pradesh government is all set to build the international standard capital city in Tullur. Land pooling for the capital is going on at brisk pace and the Master plan is being readied on the other hand by the Singapore team. Meanwhile, the Department of Archaeology and Museums is gearing up to conduct a survey to identify the historical monuments in the region. The survey is aimed at protecting them during the capital construction.

Officials are also ascertaining the age of monuments found in the survey so that they made be added to the history books where ever necessary. Tullur and surrounding regions are known to be a hub of Buddhist and Jain temples in the past. This survey now found out several statues belonging to both the religions in Penumaka, Vundavali, Vademanam and Vaikuntapuram, among other villages during the survey.

This survey is expected to go on for 45 days more. It is already known to our readers that Amaravati, a historical town where a Buddhist Stupa and a school of art named after the Buddha are located in the Capital region, was declared as heritage town by the government of India.
