Senior Telangana BJP Leader Ch.Vidya Sagar Rao is appointed as the governor of Maharashtra. Rashtrapati Bhavan on the recommendation of the Union government sent in the appointment orders on Tuesday. Ch.Vidya Sagar Rao is a 3 time MLA and 2 time MP. He worked as a Union Minister of State during Vajpayee regime.In the recent General election, he contested to Karimnagar Parliament and lost to TRS candidate Vinod.

NDA government is in the process of changing all the governors appointed during the previous government regime. NDA government is inducting its Senior leaders who are nearing retirement in to those posts. Along with Maharashtra, President had approved the appointment of three other governors – Goa, Karnataka and Rajasthan.
