TCS or Tata Consultancy Services has put on hold the joining letters of employees hired from other companies with an experience of 2-8 years. The matter has now gone to Union Labour Minister Mansukh Maandaviya.
Nascent Information Technology Senate (NITES) has written to the Union Minister. NITES said that after giving joining letters, TCS is delaying the process of giving joining letters resulting in mental, physical and work-related problems for lateral entrants.
Though TCS had given official hiring letters, they were delaying giving joining letters. The lateral entry employees are from Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune. Incidentally, the candidates submitted resignation letters to their old companies aggravating their situation.
Meanwhile, TCS was quoted as saying that they would absorb all employees, both freshers and lateral entrants, in Economic Times.
TCS maintains that everyone hired will join the company. However, issuing the joining letter depends on their business needs, it said. In this case, we are in touch with the candidates. We are looking forward to them joining us, said TCS.
