The controversial and much debated nativity issue of Telangana government seem to be currently in cold storage. The state government have introduced integrated community certificates (ICC) which will have details of caste, income and nativity certificates which will be used for Food Security Cards and pensions. Separate counters are being set up at mandal revenue offices for accepting the applications. However the government did not issue any directives regarding the nativity issue and so the MROs giving the certificates are leaving ‘blank’ in the nativity column.

However hardcore TRS supporters say Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST) and the nativity issue are the flagship schemes of the government and it can not go back on this issue. A source in the government said the existing nativity idea of considering only those residing in the state before 1956 as locals should be dealt with utmost care as the courts can strike it off any time.
