Telangana Sitting on A Ticking Corona Bomb

The Corona Crisis in Telangana seems to be becoming serious day by day. The other day, the state had recorded more than 200 cases for the first time. According to the ICMR, Telangana tops South India with the highest infection rate indicating the danger of Community Spreading.

Telangana has 5.6% Secondary Infection Rate, highest in South India followed by Tamil Nadu with 2.1%. What makes things worse is that Telangana is better equipped than several other states to carry out Corona testing. But tests done per 1,000 people is very low.

The state is not revealing its testing numbers. Buzz is that the number of tests is less than 500 which is one of the least in the country. There are high chances of asymptomatic secondary contacts roaming freely and spreading the virus. After all, those tall claims of the Chief Minister in the press meets, this situation is not expected.

According to the medical bulletin released this morning, the total number of cases in the country are 2,46,628.
